Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said, he will not lead the country on a wrong path as followed by the previous governments. He accused the previous governments of yielding to pressure from various lobbies including diesel and petrol ones. 
He was addressing a public meeting at Davangere in Karnataka yesterday as part of 'Vikas Parv' to mark the completion of two years of BJP led NDA government.
Mr Modi said, his government's programmes are meant mostly to benefit the poor, farmers and common man. The Prime Minister said, he is determined to end the role of middlemen to curb corruption and malpractices.
Mr Modi said, his government will eliminate middlemen in the farming sector so that farmers could get remunerative price of their produce. He said, the initiatives taken by his government is for the betterment of the common man.
Mr Modi said, his government has taken up progressive programmes in various



directions which may not be visible but will ensure all round development of the country and benefit the people.
He referred to various schemes of the NDA government that helped the farmers and rural areas and also for skill development of the people so that they could be gainfully employed.
The Prime Minister said, his government has during the last two years taken up developmental works which have not been taken up during the last 60 years.
Mr Modi said, the aim of this government is to double the income of farmers by 2022. He said, Krishi Sichai Yojana, Fasal Bima Yojana, Soil Health card, E-Mandi and Jan Dhan Yojana are aimed at eliminating middlemen and raising farmers' income. 
The Prime Minister said, the people of the country were burdened with a massive load of laws and legislations and during his two year tenure, he has abolished nearly 1200 laws and legislations that were unnecessary.
