Hyderabad: Hajj aspirants of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states will begin leaving for Hajj from September 2. This year the pilgrims will have to travel through Air India instead of Saudi Airlines. Purchase of suitcase supplied by the Hajj Committee will be compulsory. It was decided in a meeting held by Central Hajj Committee in Mumbai.

Prof. S A Shukoor who represented Telangana

State Hajj Committee in the meeting opposed lodging arrangement for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh pilgrims in Tahseer Tower, 1.5 kms away from the Haram Shareef, as the building has no kitchen facility. It will lay additional burden on pilgrims if they opt to obtain food through catering. Central Hajj Committee agreed to arrange accommodation in some other building.
