Mon 26 Sep 2016, 15:35:33
PANAJI: With a late surge in rain activity in the monsoon's last fortnight and September's wettest (two day) spell on Saturday and Sunday, the seasonal total is just 1.6 inch short of the normal mark of 2971.8 (117 inches).
The meteorological centre at Altinho recorded an average of just over 70mm rainfall in Goa during the last 48 hours till Sunday morning. This meant that the overall deficit has

been reduced to nil after many weeks and the seasonal total has touched total to 2933.4 (115.4 inches)
A low pressure area which started in coastal Andhra Pradesh and is now persisting over Vidharbha and adjoining Telangana and south Chhattisgarh has triggered the heavy rainfall in isolated places in Goa.
