London: President Droupadi Murmu will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London today. The state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will take place at Westminster Abbey in London this afternoon. Yesterday, President Murmu visited Westminster Hall in London where the body of Queen Elizabeth II is Lying-in-State. The President offered tributes to Queen Elizabeth II on her own behalf and on behalf of the people of India.

Following the state funeral, the coffin will travel in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch in London for its onward journey to Windsor. In



Windsor, the State Hearse will travel in procession to St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the monarch’s final resting place with her late husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Queen Elizabeth II, the former head of state of the UK and Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, passed away on September 8. She was 96. India held a day of mourning on September 11 over Queen Elizabeth II's death. Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed their condolences.
