Delhi,(Agency) 31 Oct: President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday while paying tribute to Indira Gandhi on her 31st death anniversary said that, “Pluralism has tested times, it must be preserved”.
While speaking on growing intolerance the President said, “We are a country of 1.3 billion people, with 120 languages and several faiths. Our country has thrived because of assimilation and tolerance. Our ancient civilisation has over the centuries accommodated our diversities”.In last three weeks the President had spoken on growing intolerance in the country number of times. On



Saturday he was speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Delhi Court .
The President added, “Judicial activism should not lead to the dilution of separation of powers. The faith and confidence people have in the Judiciary must be always maintained”.

At the function where Chief Justice of India H L Dattu, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court G Rohini, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lt Governor Najeeb Jung were present, Mukherjee said, “Multiplicity is our collective strength, which must be preserved at all costs. It finds reflection in the various provisions of our Constitution”.
