PM N.Modi to visit Chennai today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving for Chennai to take stock of the flood situation. He will do an aerial survey today and appropriate steps will be taken after that, said Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Lok Sabha.

Chennai reels under heavy floods following record-breaking rainfall and lakes overflowing as thousands were left stranded homeless or stranded in their homes without food or electricity. Telephone services have also



taken a hit in many areas.

IMD has predicted heavy rains for the next two to three days in Tamil Nadu.

The Airport Authority of India on Wednesday announced that airport operations will be shut till December 6. Many trains have been cancelled or diverted.
