Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home this morning after concluding his 4-nation visit to Africa. The visit covered Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya. Before leaving Kenyan capital Nairobi last night, Mr Modi tweeted in Swahili, the country's local language. He said, his visit to Kenya was memorable and has made the economic and cultural relations between the two countries more consistent.
Mr Modi also addressed the joint meeting of Indian and Kenyan business leaders. He said, India will work to reduce the trade imbalance with Kenya and assured the African nation that the effort would be to strengthen its processes and enrich its resources. Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta was also present at the meeting.
The Prime Minister told the business delegates that India is the fastest



growing large economy globally and is improving its ranking in various global indicators considerably. Mr Modi said, India is Kenya's largest trading partner and second largest investor and will enhance its investment in Kenya more rapidly.
During the visit, India signed a number of agreements and MoUs in fields covering IT, Infrastructure, Mining, Defence and maritime security, Food security and agro industries, health care among many others.
In his interaction with the diaspora community in all these countries, the Prime Minister made a forceful appeal to them to come and explore the economic opportunities offered by India. Prime Minister Modi received a rousing and enthusiastic welcome from the strong Indian origin community in South Africa and Kenya as also in Mozambique and Tanzania.
