A multi-party delegation headed by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha today met Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya in Tokyo and requested Japan’s support in the fight against terrorism. Mr Jha called for giving effect to the UN Security Council Press Statement of 25th April which underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of this reprehensible act of terrorism accountable and to bring them to justice.

At the outset, Foreign Minister Iwaya expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims of Pahalgam terror attack and extended his sympathies to those injured in the attack. He emphasised that terrorism cannot be justified in any form and expressed solidarity of Japan with India and with the world in the fight against terrorism.

India conveyed to Japan that the terrorist



attack in Pahalgam was a nefarious attempt to disturb development and peace in Jammu and Kashmir.

Another  multi-party delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi has left for a five nation visit to further expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. The delegation will visit Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia. Ahead of the departure, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said the move is intended to explain to the world that lives have been lost in India due to terrorism and none of the nations in the world believes in keeping quiet in front of this menace. She added that everyone has to come together to fight against it to reach out to the world.

The remaining four delegations out of seven will also be leaving in next few days for different countries.
