Surat: Gujarat police detained Hardik Patel along with 70 protesters in Surat on Saturday ahead of the protest march. The Gujarat government had on Friday denied permission to Hardik to conduct the Ekta Yatra. But Patel had said he would go ahead with Ekta Yatra at any cost. Hardik said Patels would follow the path of "civil disobedience", but assured that

the rally would be held peacefully. "We will take out the rally from anywhere in south Gujarat if the permission is denied to take out the rally from Dandi," Hardik's aide Alpesh Katheria said. In past two weeks, Hardik has announced to take out the "reverse Dandi March" twice, but cancelled the plan after the district administration denied permission to them.
