External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has said that global cooperation and mitigation is the only way out of a global problem like COVID-19. He was speaking at an event organised by Hoover Institute in New York. The Minister is presently on a visit to the United States. He said, the right response is to help each other out and India has seen tremendous outpouring of support and solidarity in its fight against second wave of COVID pandemic.
 
He said, India has been dealing with challenges such as hospitalization and oxygen. Dr Jaishankar stated that the



world is not going to stay the same after COVID. He added that the takeaway is that there is a need for a better, safer and less risky world that works for everyone. The Minister said, international equity and fairness are not just noble principles but common sense.
 
Dr Jaishankar said, countries should harmonise their national interest with global good. He argued that pandemics and climate change are the real global challenges. He also hoped that countries get serious about tackling climate change.
