Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed a ten-point strategy to tackle terrorism and refugee crisis and said nations must act together to tackle terrorism. Mr. Modi made his effective intervention while speaking in working dinner session last night at G-20 summit being held at Antalya in Turkey. While speaking on this session, Mr. Modi said that changing character of terrorism and its global links and franchise relations offers new threat to pluralist and open society.

Earlier yesterday, Prime Minister strongly condemned Paris terror attack and said the world stands united in strongly condemning dreadful acts of terror in Paris. He was speaking at BRICS leaders' meeting on sidelines of G-20 Summit in Turkey. Mr Modi further suggested that there is a need for united global efforts to combat terrorism.

In the last night session, Prime Minister reiterated his stand against terrorism and proposes ten measures and called upon G-20 leaders to must act upon. In his 10-point measure, Prime Minister said world must speak in one voice against terrorism and there should be no discrimination between terrorist groups. Mr Modi called for isolating sponsors and their supporters. 

Prime Minister also suggested the leaders present in the dinner that restructuring of international legal frame work is required. He also emphasized to adopt a comprehensive convention on international terrorism without delay. Prime Minister’s proposal came at a moment when the terror attack on France is being condemned in one voice



by leaders participating in G-20 summit. 

The G-20 leaders also observed two minute silence as a mark the respect for those who lost their lives in deadly Paris attacks. While proposing the ten point strategy the Prime Minister said that old structure of terrorism remain there and there are countries that still use it as an instrument of state policy.
Mr. Modi further narrated his proposal which includes strengthen efforts to prevent supply of arms to terrorist and curb and criminalize terror financing, enhance international cooperation in intelligence, secure cyber space, delink terror and terrorism. 

Prime minister also suggested that we should involve religious leaders, thinkers and opinions makers for social movement against extremism. Prime Minister also advised long term approach and stronger role for United Nations in dealing with refugee crisis. Mentioning current refugee crisis as one of the greatest human challenges, Mr. Modi thanks the countries that have opened their borders and shelters to address ongoing refuge crisis. 

The G-20 Host Turkey is also facing same problems. Since, Syria is neighbor country the security of Turkey also become vulnerable.

Though the G-20 leaders have been discussing trade and monetary other related issues deeply but the Paris attack compelled them to give focus on terror.

Today in G-20, is a concluding day and a number of events and meetings will be organized during the day.
