EAM S Jaishankar arrives in Kazakhstan on 2nd leg of visit to Central Asia

Nur Sultan: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Nur Sultan in Kazakhstan on the second leg of visit to Central Asia. Dr Jaishankar will attend the 6th Ministerial meeting of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in Nur-Sultan today.

Kazakhstan is the current Chair and initiator of the CICA Forum. Dr Jaishankar is also expected to hold bilateral talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and call



on the Kazakh leadership.He began the visit in Kazakhstan with a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov. The conversation focused on recent developments in Afghanistan.

Dr Jaishankar also met Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov. They discussed the bilateral and regional cooperation. Both Ministers exchanged views on neighbohood developments andagreed to remain in close touch.
