Patna: In Bihar, campaigning is on in full swing in Buxar district, where polling will take place on 28th of this month in third phase of state assembly elections.Rebel candidates on some seats have made the electoral battle interesting. There are four assembly segments - Rajpur, Brahmapur, Buxar and Dumrao in Buxar district. 

73 candidates are trying their luck on these seats. Main fight seems between the NDA



and the grand alliance. JD (U) is facing rebel candidates on Dumrao and Buxar. Former union minister C P Thakur’s son Vivek Thakur is contesting election on BJP ticket against Shambhu Yadav of the grand alliance in Brahmpur. Over 11 lakh voters including about four lakh youth voters will exercise their franchise in the district. Irrigation, development and tourism are some of the important issue.
