New Delhi: Putting an end to the speculations that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi would join the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre sooner or later, Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday ruled out any such possibility.

Bharatiya Janata Party national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao told, that there was no question of bringing the TRS into the NDA.

Reacting to the speculations about the TRS joining the Modi government, Rao categorically said: “It is true that we want to increase our strength in the Rajya Sabha and we want the support of various political parties, including TRS. But, as far as the TRS joining the NDA, the question does not arise.

We want to play a vital role in the Telangana State as the main opposition party. Joining hands with TRS would create a void in the Opposition.”

It may be

mentioned that Nizamabad MP Kalwakuntla Kavitha, daughter of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, told media in a chat in Nizamabad recently that the TRS would consider joining the NDA government at the Centre, “if there is such an invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

However, she later clarified that there was no such proposal from either the TRS or the BJP so far. As for Andhra Pradesh, Muralidhar Rao reasoned that though the BJP was with the ruling Telugu Desam Party, the party had been strengthening its cadre in the State, and on critical issues they raised their voice.

On issues concerning acquisition of even fertile land by the TDP for building the capital of AP, Muralidhar Rao pointed out that the State needed its own capital; yet, if there were any concerns among the farming community, the BJP’s voice would be heard.
