Youths Held For Setting Cars on Fire in Trichy, TN

Police arrested three notorious ganja sellers and are on the lookout for one more person for setting fire to two cars at Crawford in the city in the wee hours of Tuesday. 

The police said Pradeep of Woraiyur and Ajeez Khan of Crawford park their cars in a particular place at Crawford. Four unidentified persons came to the spot early Tuesday morning and set fire to the two cars before fleeing.

People of the area noticed the incident and alerted the fire and rescue services department. They also chased the culprits and secured three of



them, while one man managed to escape. Although the fire and rescue services personnel fought against the fire, the cars were fully damaged.

Edamalaipattipudur police registered a case and are investigating. Preliminary inquiries revealed that a few days back, Beskin, Yazer Arafat, Fasid and a 17-year old boy of Crawford were engaged in selling ganja which was objected to by Ajeez Khan. 

It was found that the four-member ganja-selling gang was angry with Ajeez Khan and so they took revenge on him by setting fire to his car, the police added.
