The body of a woman, cut into seven pieces, was recovered in Salem - packed in three sacks and dumped in water tanks, causing widespread shock. Ramesh (62), a resident of Gunabalan Ramasamy Street in Arisipalayam, Salem, who works as a priest at the Soundamman Temple, lived in a house belonging to the temple, with his wife Yamunai Rani and their son Gautham Raj.
When Ramesh and
family returned with his family after a visit to Thanjavur on Monday morning, they opened the water tanks for household use, they noticed a foul smell and found sacks inside.
Pallapatti police opened the sacks to find parts of a woman's body. More parts of the body were found in another sack placed in the water tank of a neighbour's house. Police are investigating the case.
