Woman harassed, threatened by her boyfriend in Andhra 'Extortion case'

A woman, belonging to Vijayawada, was harassed and threatened by her boyfriend. The woman lost Rs 1.5 crore in the extortion case. 

According to the police, the woman, working as a software professional in Hyderabad, developed acquaintance with Gautam on Snapchat. Gautam introduced himself as a techie and told her that he invested Rs 50 lakh in crypto currency. Later, he said he was cheated and that he lost all the



money.

Believing in him, the woman gave him Rs 10 lakh initially. Then Gautam started demanding more, threatening that he would die, if she failed to give him money. The woman fell in his trap and continued to transfer more money into his account. 

After giving nearly Rs 1.5 crore to him, she felt drained and unable to withstand more trouble, she approached the cyber crime police and lodged a complaint. Police filed and began investigation.
