A 47-year-old woman died after a two-wheeler was hit by an Eicher vehicle near Piler Junction in Atmakur mandal on Friday morning.

A man and a three-year-old girl, were seriously injured in the accident. According to reports, Bommaiah, a native of Thimmapuram village in Kudair mandal, was travelling from Atmakur to his hometown on a two-wheeler along with his granddaughter, Anusha (3). 

On the way, Sarojamma, a resident of



Atmakur, asked for a lift, and Bommaiah offered her a ride.

When they reached Piler Junction, an Eicher vehicle hit their two-wheeler. Sarojamma died on the spot, while Bommaiah and Anusha sustained serious injuries. The injured were shifted to the Anantapur Government General Hospital in a 108 ambulance. Sub-Inspector Lakshman Rao is trying to identify the Eicher vehicle involved in the accident with the help of CCTV footage from toll gates.
