Woman dies after falling into lift shaft in Khairatabad apartment

In a shocking incident, a 57-year-old woman died after falling into the elevator shaft at Bhavana Apartment in Anand Nagar Colony, Khairatabad, on Friday.

The victim was identified as Radha, a native of Andhra Pradesh, who lived in the building along with her daughter Tulasi and son-in-law Seshu. According to the police, the woman, along with her infant grandson, pressed the button to use the lift. Before the lift chamber reached



the floor, the door opened. Believing that the lift had arrived, she stepped forward and fell into the open shaft.

She suffered serious injuries and died on the spot, while the child suffered injuries and was hospitalised.

On information, the Khairatabad police visited the place, removed the body from the shaft and shifted it to the mortuary. The child was shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.
