'I will move mountains to get you back,' said actor Celina Jaitly in an emotional appeal to her brother, Major Vikrant Jaitley, a retired Special Forces officer detained in the UAE since September 2024. Speaking in interview , Jaitly detailed the Delhi High Court's recent directive ordering the Ministry of External Affairs to appoint a specific legal firm to represent her brother, who has been held for over 16 months on unspecified national security grounds.

She described the ordeal as living in a 'film script', noting that

her brother was taken from a Dubai mall and held incommunicado for nine months before being moved to Al-Watba Detention Center.

Jaitly, a fourth-generation army daughter, revealed the personal toll of the crisis, including the breakdown of her marriage and financial struggles. She appealed directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene, drawing parallels to the Qatar naval officers' case, and expressed hope that the new pro bono legal representation would finally secure the veteran's dignity and release.
