Will continue CM post Until Congress High Command Decides, says Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday asserted that the Congress government in the state is a collective one and said he would continue as Chief Minister until the party high command decides otherwise. 

Responding to Opposition remarks during the Assembly session at Suvarna Soudha, Siddaramaiah said, “This is not my government; it is our government. I am the Chief Minister now and will



remain so until the high command decides otherwise.”

Dismissing Opposition attempts to provoke the ruling party, he said the Congress enjoys the support of 140 MLAs and has the people’s mandate to govern for five years. 

Taking a swipe at the BJP, Siddaramaiah accused it of lacking internal consensus and alleged that it never came to power in Karnataka with a clear popular mandate.
