In view of the declining trend in new COVID-19 cases, the government of West Bengal has eased the strict restrictions from today. However, restrictive measures will be in place till 30th June. The measures were put in place all over the state from 1st of May and strict restrictions had been imposed on 16th of the earlier month to contain the spread of COVID-19.

After reviewing the prevailing situation, the state govt further relaxed the restrictions and decided government offices to be opened from today with 25 per cent attendance. IT industries have been



allowed to run with 50 per cent workforce. Markets will be open for one more hour in the morning while shopping malls, stand alone shops and restaurants will be open during specific times.

Parks will also be open for exercise for limited hours in the morning but people with two doses of vaccines will only be allowed to enter. However, educational institutes, Spa and Gyms will remain closed. Public transport except staff special trains and vehicles marked for health, essential and emergency services will be restricted.
