The West Bengal Government has urged the Centre to release the unpaid money to the state to expedite developmental work. In a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee requested him, to release 50 thousand crore rupees outstanding to the state in various fields.

Seeking Prime Minister’s intervention on the matter, Ms Banerjee mentioned in the letter that state is yet to receive its share from the earnings of the Central taxes including GST and allocations of funds on various Central schemes.
