Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu today paid tributes to the great nationalist Shyamji Krishna Varma on his Birth Anniversary today.

In a tweet, Mr Naidu said, displaying fierce patriotism, Shyamji Krishna Varma turned India House into a focal point of revolutionary Indian nationalism in London. The Vice President said, the thoughts and life of Shyamji Krishna Varma continue to inspire people.

tweet, Mr Modi said, Shyamji Krishna Varma dedicated his life to free India from colonial slavery. The Prime Minister said, a grateful nation will never forget his contribution to the freedom struggle.

Mr Modi said, he considers himself blessed to have got the opportunity to bring the ashes of Shyamji Krishna Varma back from Switzerland in 2003 and received the reinstatement certificate during a visit to the UK in 2015. He said, it is important that young India knows more about the courage and greatness of Shyamji Krishna Varma.
