Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar yesterday said that India is uniquely positioned in the world when it comes to languages, and the literature of its languages is a goldmine of knowledge. Interacting with Indian Statistical Service (ISS) probationers in New Delhi, Mr. Dhankhar said that India’s inclusivity is reflected in its languages, which are the country’s spinal strength. He underlined that the National Education Policy stands out for giving primacy to the mother tongue. He added that education is now being imparted in vernacular languages, even in technical subjects like medicine and
engineering.
The Vice President said that India, at the moment, is a nation experiencing an unprecedented economic upsurge and phenomenal infrastructure growth. He emphasized that in the vast canvas of India’s progress, civil servants function as the silent yet formidable architects contributing to the socio-economic development of our dynamic nation. Mr. Dhankhar also lauded the government’s decision to include caste-based enumeration in the upcoming decadal census, stating that it will be a transformative and game-changing step.
