Voting For Senior Citizens, Differently-abled Commences In Maduranthagam, TN

The polling of votes of senior citizens above the age of 85 commenced at Maduranthagam constituency on Tuesday, and it will go on till Wednesday. Officials with ballot papers visited the houses in the constituency to poll the votes of senior citizens. 

The voting in Maduranthagam is scheduled for October 6 and the Election Commission of India carried out an enumeration of the senior citizens above the age of 85 and differently-abled



persons to carry out door-to-door polling. It found 450 senior citizens and 481 differently-abled voters in the constituency. 

The officials started the process of voting for the 931 senior citizens and differently-abled persons on Tuesday by visiting their houses with the ballot papers, boxes and indelible ink. The process will go on till Wednesday and the polled votes will be added when the counting takes place on October 9.
