Lord Ganesha, the deity revered for removing obstacles, is being celebrated in a truly one-of-a-kind form this year at Ranigari Thota in Vijayawada.

How? An idol that isn't just adorable, but literally sweet! This unique Ganesha idol has been crafted entirely out of toffees, jelly candies, chocolates and colourful lollipops, turning heads and delighting devotees across the city.

The idea was the brainchild of a group of local

youngsters who wanted to create something that would stand out from the hundreds of pandals with different concepts set up across Andhra Pradesh for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Speaking about the initiative, organiser Jany said, "This is the seventh consecutive year that we have arranged the Ganesh pandal. All the youth decided to decorate the idol with toffees. We used around 47,000 toffees to decorate the idol. The total cost of the idol is nearly Rs 1.5 lakh."
