Video of Indian-Origin Woman Shot Dead Inside United States Supermarket

An Indian woman from Gujarat was shot dead at a departmental store in the USA's Virginia. The incident was caught on CCTV camera. 

The victim is identified as Meghnaben Patel, 45, who has been working at the supermarket for 10 years. She was a native of Jantral village in Vijapur Taluka of Mehsana district. 

According to the CCTV footage that surfaced on social media of what looks to be an attempt of robbery, a masked assailant, posed as a customer is engaging with Meghnaben, who was standing at the billing counter.

After a brief period of conversation, the assailant pulls out a gun and shoots her multiple times, with the



victim collapsing on the ground. The gunman flees the scene after the shooting, the video shows.

The police were reportedly alerted by the incident and they arrived moments later, who cordoned off the crime scene and began investigation. The manhunt for identifying the shooter is underway.
