Venkaiah Naidu calls on youth to join in promoting local and indegenous handloom

Agartala: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday called on youths of the nation to join in promoting local and indigenous handloom and handicraft products.

He was speaking after inauguration a three-day Exhibition on Handloom and Handicraft Products of North Eastern Region organised at the International Fair Centre at Hapania in Agartala.

While interacting with artisans coming from different parts of North East States, Mr. Naidu said, he is proud to witness such products of skillful and talented artisans. He urged people particularly



youths and youngsters not to go after foreign goods and products instead to take their role in vocal for local movement in attaining Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Mr Naidu further motivating the artisans to keep on producing their artworks said that it is duty of the State and Central Government to channelize the products upto market.

After visiting the exhibition, Vice President attended a culture programme at the Raj Bhavan in the evening. He will leave Agartala today morning for Dimapur.
