Vaishno Devi yatra registration halted till today morning amid huge rush

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board announced that registration for the Vaishno Devi yatra has been temporarily suspended due to an heavy rush of devotees on the occasion of the new year. The board said the registration will remain closed till Thursday morning, urging pilgrims to plan their visit accordingly. The Shrine Board stated that the suspension has been implemented to manage the large number of devotees and ensure smooth operations at the yatra site. Pilgrims are requested to check the official website for updates and avoid visiting during peak rush hours to prevent inconvenience, the board



added. 

Earlier in the day, devotees across the country thronged prominent temples on the last day of the year, offering prayers and seeking divine blessings as part of year-end religious observances. From Jammu and Kashmir to Uttar Pradesh, places of worship witnessed a steady influx of devotees despite cold weather conditions. In Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, a large number of devotees arrived at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra ahead of the New Year 2026. Despite dense fog and chilly conditions, pilgrims were seen undertaking the yatra with devotion and enthusiasm.
