Uttarakhand selected as best state tableau of Republic Day parade

New Delhi: Uttarakhand has been selected as the best state tableau among 17 States and Union Territories which participated in the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The Tableau of Uttrakhand had showcased the world famous tourist destination Corbete National Pak and famous Cholia dance. Defence Ministry said, the second place went to the tableau of Maharashtra and third position to Uttar Pradesh.  

Punjab Regiment Centre Contingent has been named the best marching contingent among the three services. Central Reserve Police Force has been named the best marching contingent among Central Armed Police Force and other auxiliary forces. The tableaux of Ministry of Tribal



Affairs was declared winner in the category of Central Ministries and Departments.

Three panels of judges were appointed for assessing the performance of Marching Contingents, and tableaux from various States and UT.

In addition to the panel of judges, an online poll was conducted by MyGov for the citizens to vote for their favourite Tableaux and Marching contingents. However, in popular choice category Gujarat has been selected as the best state tableau, while Uttar Pradesh got second place and Maharashtra third place. Indian Air Force Marching contingent has been named the best marching contingent among the three services.
