UP CM Yogi Adityanath appeals to people of Lakhimpur Kheri to maintain peace

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of Lakhimpur Kheri to maintain peace, stay at home and not pay heed to rumors. He described yesterday's incident as unfortunate and expressing grief over it. Chief Minister said that action will be taken against those responsible for it. He said the government will go into the root cause of the incident and expose the elements behind it.

The violence that erupted



in the Lakhimpur Kheri district yesterday claimed 8 lives in two separate incidents.

Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra accused anti-social elements for the violence and said that it was a conspiracy.

Meanwhile, section 144 has been imposed in the entire district, and internet services are suspended. The heavy police force has been deployed to maintain law and order.
