Chief Minister Yogi Adotyanath has announced phenomenal increase in the wages of Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, Sahayikas and Prantiya Raksha Dal members. The salary increase will benefit around 4 lakh Anganwadi and helper workers.

In a function held in state capital Lucknow, the Chief Minister said that there will an increase of 1500 rupees in the present honorarium of Anganwadi workers while Mini Anganwadi workers will get 1250 rupees, Sahayikas will get 750 rupees increase in their present monthly salary. Prantiya Raksha Dal will also get a daily increase of 125 rupees.

Uttar Pradesh has more than one lakh 80 thousand anganwadi centres in state. Earlier last year Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also announced a hike in their monthly honorarium.
