Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, the nomination process for the third phase of the Assembly elections started yesterday. One candidate filed the nomination papers on the first day. The last date of filing the nominations is 1st February.

In the third phase, polling will be held on 20th February in 59 constituencies across 16 districts. These are Hathras, Kasganj, Firozabad, Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, and



Lalitpur.

Meanwhile, nominations for the second phase of elections are also going on in the State. A total of 152 candidates have filed their papers so far. Ninety-four candidates filed the papers yesterday. The last date of filing the nominations for the second phase of elections is 28th January. In the second phase, polling will be held on 14th February in 55 constituencies across 9 districts Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Sambhal, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Badaun and Shahjahanpur.
