Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways and Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal will attend the receiving ceremony of the world's longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas on its successful completion of journey at Bogibeel in Dibrugarh today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had virtually flagged off the cruise on 13th January 2023 from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh which has already traversed through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Bangladesh.
The river cruise with 26 Swiss and 2 German anchored at Dhubri, Goalpara,



Sualkuchi, Guwahati, Silghat, Kaziranga, Tezpur, North Lakhimpur, Majuli and Sivasagar in its 12-day long journey in Assam. The tourists visited several historical and archaeological sites in these areas.

MoS for Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sripad Yesso Naik and Shantanu Thakur and Rameswar Teli, MoS for Labour, Employment, Petroleum & Natural Gas and Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, MoS for Education and External Affairs will also attend the programme along with several other dignitaries.
