Union minister Ashwini Choubey's brother dies of heart attack, 2 doctors suspended for negligence

Union Minister Ashwini Choubey's brother Nirmal Chaubey died at the Mayaganj Hospital in Bihar's Bhagalpur. Two doctors of the hospital were suspended after relatives accused them of committing medical negligence.

Dr Asim Kr Das, the hospital Superintendent, told ANI that Nirmal was brought in a critical condition and medical professionals found out he had suffered a massive heart attack. According to Das, a senior doctor administered the required medicine and the patient was shifted to the ICU but there



was no doctor there.

Das said he suspended two doctors following the incident.

A relative, Chandan, also told ANI that there were no doctors in the ICU.

Deputy superintendent of police of Bhagalpur, Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, said an investigation will be conducted whenever they receive a complaint. "We will take action against anyone who was negligent. Action will be taken against them too (aggrieved) if they create a ruckus causing the doctors to flee," he added.
