Tension prevailed in Amaravati region during the YSRC rally in the area on Saturday when the party leaders and Undavalli farmers clashed with each other and hurled stones against each other in the area.

In the melee, one constable, who was injured, was shifted to a hospital for treatment. With the situation spiraling out of control, police brought the situation under control and heightened security to avoid more trouble. Police also requested the YSRC leaders to go back and ensured that they left the place, as the situation was turning anxious.

The farmers staged a sit-in on the road, and prevented the YSRC vehicles from proceeding, raising 'Rajadhani Drohi (betrayer) Jagan, Go

Back'.

The farmers demanded that YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy should withdraw his 'Mavigun' remarks and questioned how could they think of touring in the capital area.

The YSRC leaders tried to carry on their rally in Penumaka by pushing away the farmers and this led to jostling between the YSRC men and capital region farmers.

As the YSRC rally reached Undavalli from Prakasam barrage, the farmers confronted with YSRC leaders Perni Nani, Lella Appireddy, Devineni Avinash and others. The YSRC leaders have no moral right to speak about the Amaravati capital after delaying building the capital for five years by continuing to preach the three-capital formula, the farmers said.
