Two young students at a private residential school in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district died after reportedly falling seriously ill following a meal at their hostel, police said.
The deceased were identified as 12-year-old Nitin and eight-year-old Arun Kumar.
According to preliminary information, the children reportedly consumed momos with chutney at the hostel before their health
deteriorated. The school management immediately rushed the two students to a hospital after they fell ill. Despite medical efforts, doctors could not save them.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Shivraj said an investigation was underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Authorities are examining the events leading up to the incident, including the food consumed by the children.
