Two Drug Peddlers Linked to Film Industry Arrested in Kochi

Two drug peddlers, accused of supplying narcotics to people working in the film industry, were arrested at Cheranalloor here, police said on Thursday.

The arrested have been identified as Amal George (33), a resident of Cheranalloor, and Abhijith (25), a native of Vadakkekara. 

According to police, a midnight raid was conducted at their rented apartment in Cheranalloor by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force



(DANSAF).

During the search, police seized 14.63 grams of MDMA from their possession. Police alleged that the duo supplied drugs to people associated with the film industry as well as to medical practitioners in Kochi.

 Officials said both the accused had previously been involved in narcotics cases and were under police surveillance. 

Police have seized the mobile phones of the accused and are identifying those who allegedly purchased drugs from them.
