Actor-turned-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has written to the Election Commission of India requesting an extension of polling hours by two hours, till 8:00 pm, in view of the difficulties faced by voters.

In his letter, Vijay, who is contesting from the Tiruchirappalli East and Perambur constituencies, highlighted that many voters were unable to reach polling

stations on time due to travel disruptions.

He also pointed to long queues at several booths, leading to delays and inconvenience for voters.

“Extend polling hours by two hours: In view of the large surge of delayed voters due to travel disruptions, and long-queue waiting imperatives, polling must be extended till 8:00 pm across all affected constituencies,” the letter stated.
