A major accident occurred on the national highway near Chinnampeta in Yeleswaram mandal of Kakinada district after a vehicle collided with a truck carrying a carbon dioxide load, causing it to catch fire.
According to reports, the incident took place when a speeding vehicle hit a lorry that was reportedly moving to the other side of the divider. The impact led to the truck bursting into
flames.
Fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after efforts to extinguish the fire. Police said both drivers involved in the accident escaped safely without injuries.
Traffic on the highway was regulated to prevent further disruption. Officials confirmed that the truck was transporting a carbon dioxide load from Visakhapatnam to Maharashtra at the time of the incident.
