Traffic resumes on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway

Traffic on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway resumed on Friday as the stranded vehicles were allowed to move. However traffic remained suspended on Srinagar-Leh national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir.

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway was closed following snowfall at



Qazigund, Banihal, Jawahar tunnel and other areas since Wednesday night after heavy rain.

National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and Border Roads Organisation have pressed into service sophisticated machines and men to clear the snow and landslides on the highway.
