Tight security arrangements have been put in place in Belagavi ahead of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) three-day Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak, with the district administration declaring no-fly zones around three venues to be visited by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Belagavi Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammed Roshan has prohibited the operation of drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and paragliders within a two-km radius of the designated venues from July 6 to July 14 under Section
163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023.
The restricted locations include the Foundry Cluster Guest House at Udyambag, Sant Meera School in Sahyadri Colony, and Jagannathrao Joshi Smarak Bhavan on Goods Shed Road, where Bhagwat is scheduled to attend programmes during his stay in the city.
The annual Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak, one of the RSS's key organisational meetings, will be held in Belagavi from July 10 to 12. Bhagwat is scheduled to arrive in the city on July 6 ahead of the meeting.
