With 19 Bangladeshi nationals detected at various construction sites in Mangaluru in the last four days
Mangaluru City Police have widened their investigation by booking and arresting three labor contractors from West Bengal for allegedly bringing Bangladeshi workers to the city for employment.
While eight Bangladeshi laborers were found on July 10 in Surathkal Police Station limits, 11 including four minors were found on Monday in Urwa station limits.
The accused have been identified as Moidul
Islam (35), Delaewar Hossain (29) and Rasul Islam, all natives of West Bengal.
“These accused are bringing laborers from different states of North India to work here and have brought some Bangladeshis also along with them. Moidin Islam and Dilwar Hussain are arrested in Mangalore. DCP (Law and Order) has coordinated with Kolkata Police and got Rasul Islam arrested in Kolkata. Our team left for Kolkata already. Once he is brought, we will know if there are any others too,” City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy told reporters.
