Three persons involved in firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff have been apprehended from Rajasthan's Kota, said the police on Monday. Of the three, one is a minor (17-year-old), and the other two were identified as 22-year-old Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan, who originally hails from Bihar's Begusarai, and 18-year-old Rehan, who is from Haryana's Sonipat.
They were held from the Kota railway station following a joint operation by the Rajasthan Police and the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF).
Briefing the media about the development, Kota Superintendent of Police (SP) Tejaswini Gautam said the accused wanted to flee to Nepal via Delhi. She said they would be handed over to the Mumbai Police, adding the probe will continue in the matter.
"This
morning, we received information, prompting us to activate our team. We learned that the three primary suspects involved in the firing were travelling by train and were due to arrive in Kota. Acting on this information, our team, within just 15 minutes, set a trap and thoroughly searched the entire train. Through this swift action by the Kota City Police, we have apprehended all three suspects responsible for the firing," she said.
However, the 'country-made' pistol jammed after which the accused fled on a bike, which was seized earlier in the day from the Andheri station. It is not clear on why they attacked Shroff, but the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, through a viral social media post, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The police are trying to ascertain the claims now.
