Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar has claimed that there is a shortage of vaccines in Mumbai and 26 out of 71 private vaccination centres had to be closed today due to the non-availability of the vaccines.
She said that the consignment of 1 lakh 76 thousand doses is expected to arrive in Mumbai in the afternoon and the drive will remain suspended till further orders.
In Mumbai, many centres including the Jumbo Covid Centre at BKC suspended the drive after exhausting the stock of the vaccines in the morning.
News reports that many beneficiaries who had gathered outside various vaccination centres in the state had to return home without receiving either the first or the second dose of the Covid 19 vaccine.
