The Telangana government released Rs 684 crore under the employment guarantee scheme.
Governor Narasimhan instructed the officials of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PR&RD) Departments to take all necessary measures and provide relief to people affected by drought conditions across Telangana.
The Governor, who had of late received reports from various sources and memorandums from political parties, called the officials of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Departments, including Special Chief Secretary SP Singh to Raj



Bhavan and sought a report on the measures they had to taken to meet the drought situation.
He asked them to explain the steps taken for supply of drinking water and fodder. The officials are learnt to have informed the Governor that they were taking all necessary measures to mitigate the suffering as per the plans drawn up by the government.
The Governor wanted to know how much funds have been released for food employment guarantee schemes. He is said to have expressed his unhappiness over the poor release of funds.
