A teacher in Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Madhu Bangarappa's native district-Shivamogga took the initiative to draw the attention of the Minister to get grants released for Kannada medium of instruction schools established after 1995 by writing a placard in his blood.

The placard displayed was in bold letters. The teacher Prashanth attached to Shikaripura School in Shivamogga wrote a placard in bold to display it in a video-recorded message to catch the attention of the Minister. 

The placard written in blood stated “Release funds for Kannada



schools after 1995." The teacher demanded the grants be released by November 1.

Shikaripura is in Shivamogga and Minister Madhu Bangarappa represented Soraba Assembly seat in the district. The teacher took the step to write a letter to the Minister in his blood over the Minister's statement that ‘Kannada runs in his blood’ and assured to release funds for Kannada-medium schools.

Prashanth stated he took the step to display a placard intended for the Minister and said “We have staged numerous protests but nothing substantial happened except for assurances.”
