Tamil Nadu CM Vijay hikes the Dearness Allowance by 2% for government employees and teachers, raising it from 58% to 60% effective from January 1, 2026.
In an official statement, the CMO Tamil Nadu mentioned, "The increase will benefit about 16 lakh employees, teachers and pensioners at an additional cost of Rs 1,230 to the state exchequer."
The statement also stressed how important government employees and
teachers are in playing a key role in framing and executing such initiatives effectively. Vijay has also showed his keen interest in introducing as well as implementing various welfare schemes for the common people of the state. He ensured that his administration would be a 'government of common people' and they will work hard to ensure a situation of 'social justice, equal opportunity and secularism' in the state.
