Tamil Nadu government has announced new lockdown measures from 6th to 20th of this month. It is to be noted that the top officials of the State Government including Chief Secretary Rajeev Ranjan had a detailed meeting with DMK leader MK Stalin on the Covid situation in the State. The announcement was made after the meeting. The new restrictions has allowed government and private offices to function with 50 percent attendance.
 
Transport facilities like rail, metro and bus services will be allowed with 50 percent passengers only. No other shops except Groceries and vegetable shops without air-conditioned facility will be allowed to function with 50 percent customers till 12 noon. Take away services will be allowed in restaurants and hotels and tea shops will be allowed to open till 12 noon. Auditoriums, open air meetings and cultural events are banned. Only 20 people will be allowed in funerals and 50 persons in



marriage. Curfew to continue on Sundays.
 
E commerce activities like swiggy and zomato will be allowed to take from restaurants which will be allowed to function from 6 to 10 in the mornings, 12 noon to 3 pm and evening 6 to 9 pm at night. Essential services, Media, freight and medical emergencies are allowed at all times and night curfew will continue from ten pm to four am. 

According to the Health department , more than twenty thousand fresh cases have been registered for the second consecutive day yesterday. More than one lakh 20 thousand people are being treated for the pandemic. More than 18 thousand patients have been discharged. Death counts to more than 100 in the state. In Chennai more than 6000 fresh cases were registered yesterday. Chengalpattu, Coimbatore, Tiruvallur districts registered over 1000 fresh cases.
